Hearing on Point Wells bill Friday morning in State House, next week in State Senate

Send your letters of support TODAY to State Representative Ruth Kagi and the House Committee

State Represenatative Ruth Kagi's bill to limit development at Point Wells will have a hearing Friday, February 11 at 8 am at the State Capitol in Olympia.

State Sen. Maralyn Chase sponsored an identical bill in the Senate. Her bill is scheduled for a hearing Tuesday, February 15, at 1:30 pm before the committee on government operations, tribal relations and elections.
The bills would limit development in locations like Point Wells to the density of nearby cities unless there is an interlocal agreement in place on impacts of the development with the surrounding jurisdictions.
Blue Square Real Estate had their pre-application neighborhood meeting January 27, where they presented plans for four urban villages, 3200 condos and 100,000 square feet of commercial. The proposed development is in Snohomish County, but the only way to the location is through the Richmond Beach neighborhood in Shoreline in King County. is a community-driven non-profit organization dedicated to preserving our neighborhood through responsible and sustainable planning.

I support house bill 1265.

Limiting the residential density of Point Wells, which is located in unincorporated Snohomish County, so that it does not exceed the density of the adjacent cities unless the county enters into an interlocal agreement, will help to ensure that Snohomish County collaborates with the surrounding jurisdictions on the impacts of the development.
