Chris' unrelenting enthusiasm for alpine ski racing has been on full display as he stepped up to take on a challenge that few could handle. This year, Chris jumped into Birds of Prey as the SSCV lead for what is a daunting and formidable operation. Chris has brought a level of organization and passion to the role that few could match. Under Chris' leadership, the SSCV staff, athletes and member volunteers have helped make BOP possible in what has been a challenging year thus far. SSCV and alpine ski racing are lucky to have Chris helping to move the sport forward. Thank you for having the courage to take this on, the character to place the common good above any individual pursuits and the commitment to dedicate countless hours to the preparation and execution of a truly world class event. - Anonymous

Chris took on the massive task of being the point person for SSCV involvement at Birds of Prey. It is a huge undertaking with a ton of pressure from FIS and VVF to ensure a great product for the athletes and the crowds. JANUARY SWIX NEWSLETTER FROM GRAHAM LONETTO- SWIX ALPINE DIRECTOR
We have turned the calendar over to a new year and with that we look forward to a fresh season of racing.  Many of you have already participated in inter-club races or your first USSA/F.I.S. races of the year and I am sure some of you have been surprised by equipment problems or failures.

Entering the new race season there are a few things that you should be aware of when it comes to managing your equipment.  Many of you have already properly prepped your skis for the season, taking them to a reputable ski service shop for the initial setup and mount.

Beyond basic tuning it is important to look over tiny details for a successful season.
An athlete should take a few moments to inspect their equipment to eliminate any potential problems that may arise on race day.  The issues that we will go over are easy to address problems and should become a regular pre-race ritual.

Here is an equipment check list before you race.  READ MORE
