Vail Daily - August 21, 2022 - “We lost a lot of seniors,” is a worn out phrase for coaches entering the annual pre-season cycle of tryouts and self-scouting reports. Thankfully, Will Sipf won’t have to use it when speaking about his Vail Mountain School golf squad.

“After finishing fifth two years ago and third last year, without losing a player, we should be very competitive come regionals and state championship time,” the coach said.

That’s right. VMS didn’t lose a single stud to graduation. READ MORE

A Tale of U.S. Ski Team Sisters

Read on about the Resnick sisters (Allie and Emma) in Ski Racing Media, former Ski & Snowboard Club Vail athletes on the U.S. Alpine Ski Team together.

Ski Racing Media - August 3, 2022 –  In the spring of 2019 sisters Allie and Emma Resnick had one of their biggest fights. Emma had just qualified for the U.S. Ski Team but an injury sidelined her older sister Allie. For the first time in their lives Allie was not the first of the two to accomplish something before her younger sister. Emma knew it too. She wanted to celebrate her success yet felt guilty knowing Allie should have been nominated first. The Resnick sisters learned two important lessons that evening. Lessons that have stuck with them over the past three years on the U.S. Team together:  ...READ MORE

"A large group of 20 U16 alpine boys recently spent time at Fish On Ranch. The ranch is located near the Medicine Bow National Forest in Centennial, Wyoming. On the ranch we were treated to some fantastic fishing, horseback riding, swimming, and hiking. The trip doubled as a team building and conditioning camp. It was a high intensity conditioning block that incorporated the ranch’s gymnasium and workout center. Thank you to the Leever Family for opening up their spectacular ranch for us to enjoy!" - Ian Dunlop, Alpine Men's U16 Head Coach

Photos from Alpine Men's FIS training camp in New Zealand

The SSCV Men's FIS team just returned from New Zealand.  They did a 3-week camp.  There were 21 athletes who attended the camp.  We skied at Ohau, Roundhill and Coronet Peak resorts.  The main focus of the camp was skiing on steep terrain, and it was a really productive camp for the team.  We had really good snow conditions, and were able to experience such an amazing place.  One highlight for everyone was the whole team doing the Nevis Bungy Jump, which is 432 meters free falling!
