Byron and Vi Brown were instrumental in building up the Vail community and Ski Club Vail-Vail Daily
Join us in honoring Vi and Byron at the SSCV Hall of Fame and Wall of Excellence Induction Celebration on February 7th at the Four Seasons Vail during SSCV Alumni Reunion Weekend!
Vi and Byron Brown have touched the lives of so many people, both young and old, in the Vail community since their arrival in Vail in 1964. Vail represented the land of opportunity for Byron Brown in the early 1960s, having explored a number of mountain living options while Vi Brown stayed behind with the children in the Front Range. With Byron Brown having spoken to a number of people, including Pete Seibert Sr., during his visit to Vail, and Vi and Byron Brown having spent every free moment escaping the city to “play†in the mountains as a young couple, there was not a moment of hesitation when Byron Brown asked Vi Brown if she would move to Vail, a community of just over a 100 people at the time.

Ski & Snowboard Club Vail plans to break ground on its new 28,000 square
foot clubhouse which will include a 10,000 square foot penthouse or 2
smaller condominium units.
Ski & Snowboard Club Vail announced this week that it has received town of Vail approvals to build a new 28,000-square-foot clubhouse. In addition, the building will have 10,000 square feet of residential space as its third and fourth floors. Nordic Athletes Compete in first Junior Nationals Qualifier at Snow Mountain Ranch
The SSCV Nordic Program competed in their first Junior Nationals Qualifier races of the season at Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby Colorado. Snow was a bit thin and there were many moose around, but the races went off smoothly. Big thanks to the Snow Mountain Ranch crew and the Boulder Nordic Junior Racing Team for hosting.
We had many highlights on the weekend from first time racers to wins in numerous age categories. Saturday featured individual start skate races and Sunday mass start classic races. Results can be found at
