Lenten Season and Reflection
Preparation is one of those things that we always do. We prepare for the day, for the week, and for the month come. Whether we experience unexpected accidents or surprises, we constantly are looking inward to ensure that in all of the things that may be coming, both planned or unplanned, we are prepared to handle those situations as best we can. Similarly, we should look inward during Lent to prepare for the Passion of Jesus and His resurrection and triumph over sin and death.
Lent is a great time to remember the forty days that Jesus spent in the desert before starting his public ministry. During this time Jesus took the time to fast, pray, and mentally prepare to help and heal. It is a way to be reminded that Jesus' purpose was His journey to the cross where died for our sins, and Lent is a good opportunity for Christians to look inward and reflect upon the sacrifices that were made for God's children.
Lenten season is a time to turn away from sin, mourn death and brokenness, and anticipate a day when the broken world will be healed. During this time it is important for us to prepare our minds and our spirits through the words of Jesus. We must prepare to look within one's self and reflect on how we can best serve the people around us and be ready to be the best version of ourselves in Christ Jesus so that we give witness the teachings and lessons from the life of life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, our Savior.
