, the organic juice and smoothie café company based in Austin, has opened its first Houston location
, and its first Dallas location is set to open in the coming weeks
. The openings are part of the popular 11-year-old Austin brand’s growth plan, which includes expansion throughout the Lone Star State and beyond.
The newly opened Daily Juice store in Houston is located at 6401 Woodway Dr., Suite 175
, and is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The store features a variety of fresh and cold-pressed juices, super-food smoothies, fresh-made salads, cleanses, nutrient-dense shots and super-food snacks. Daily Juice Houston franchisee Jim Gressett
is a veteran business owner and food industry entrepreneur with a diverse portfolio, including ownership of more than 160 Pizza Hut locations between Texas and the West Coast. Gressett says he hopes to take the Daily Juice concept as far as Pizza Hut, noting Daily Juice’s commitment to natural products as a key differentiator.
“There are some concepts in our segment that are 200-plus and 700-plus units, but their products include powdered protein mixes, milk, sugars, whey and egg, as well as ice and water as fillers,” Gressett says
. “We offer the whole fruit and vegetables, along with all-natural super foods.”
In addition to Daily Juice’s Houston expansion, the company has signed an area developer agreement with DJG-DFW Holdings LLC
, an affiliate of Fort Worth-based restaurant operator Winslow’s Partners LLC, to open a total of 10 Daily Juice locations within the next three years in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area
. The first Dallas-area Daily Juice location will open this June at 3908 Cedar Springs Road.
This is the first of three Daily Juice locations opening in summer 2014 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area
. Hours at the Cedar Springs location will vary per season, and the menu will feature a variety of fresh and cold-pressed juices, super-food smoothies, fresh-made salads, cleanses, nutrient-dense shots and super-food snacks.
, a principal of DJG-DFW Holdings, has co-owned Winslow’s Wine Café in Fort Worth for more than five years, and has invested in a number of other concepts, including Happy Family Brands, a global organic food company. Prior to opening Winslow’s, Berry was director of operations for a national real-estate development firm specializing in retail properties. Berry’s partner in this venture is Joe Berry
, her uncle and the co-founder and co-owner of Winslow’s Wine Café. He will be responsible for building the Daily Juice brand in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and managing marketing, customer relations and special events.
“We were drawn to Daily Juice because of the quality of their product,” Berry says
. “Healthy living has always been a priority for my family. Daily Juice was our first encounter with quick-serve whole-food smoothing and organic juices, and we knew immediately that we wanted to be a part of it. I’m so pleased to be able to bring it to the Dallas and Fort Worth communities for the first time.”
She is so sure of Daily Juice’s success in Dallas and Fort Worth that she is already planning to expand into Fort Worth and then the Dallas-Fort Worth suburbs, including Arlington and Plano, within two years
. In total, Berry plans to open 10 Daily Juice locations by 2016
