Today features some Tweets of the Week (not a very creative name I know, so I welcome ideas). It features funny, spicy, helpful, smart, or just plain random tweets — some recent and some throwback. 

A VC saying this? Mike Speiser was the first CEO of Snowflake and is a managing partner at Sutter Hill Ventures — a bonkers good venture fund. So this spicy take on boards coming from a VC was def not what we expected to see. WDYT?

Here’s a look back at our list of the top 100 VCs. Def some changes going into next year given the changes in the venture ecosystem.

Retail revenge. Wall Street Bets and Reddit users took the investing world by storm earlier this year when they pushed up AMC, GameStop, and other stocks (sorry — stonks). Robinhood found itself in the fray as well. We broke down Robinhood’s business model here.

The Reddit frenzy highlighted just how much personal finance for millennials is changing.

I’m on a boat. As we reflect back on the year, “supply chain” was a term I think we all uttered way more than expected. The Ever Given container ship blocked the Suez in the early part of the year, but the supply chain woes continued and persist today.

Walk a mile in my shoes. Last week, DoorDash restarted a program that requires corporate employees to do deliveries or handle other customer servicing efforts once a month. It seems like a smart way to build an understanding of how delivery and customer service folks interact with customers every day and hopefully build better products over time. 

But a vocal minority of DoorDash employees weren’t so happy with this.  

We looked at the companies unbundling Uber Eats here and also the grocery store of the future here. We also dug into demand forecasting & inventory optimization in grocery & food retail here. 

Accept cookies. Governments have issued all sorts of privacy regulations recently. The impact seems mostly to be that we click to accept cookies on all sites and lawyers probably make more money helping companies comply with this stuff, but what do I know?

Anyhoo — this tweet by Steph Smith had some useful tips on how you can see who is tracking you and turn them off if you so choose.  

We dug into Facebook's (sorry — Meta’s) growth strategy here. With the rebrand, you’ll see that it’s not all about ads.

This is art. Last week, Jack Dorsey of Twitter and Square fame took aim at Web3 with some choice words. Whether you agree with him or not, this tweet was the most interesting "take" on the recent drama.
