CB Insights’ data indicates that global startup funding in Q1’20 will likely be 16% lower than just the prior quarter (Q4’19). The challenges to private company financing, barring a miraculous turnaround, will be more dramatic in Q2, given that 2 of the first 3 months of Q1 were “normal.”

Seed-stage funding, in particular, is forecast to plunge 22%.
