NAINChat: Interfaith response to refugee crisis

This month NAIN board member and Jewish filmmaker/journalist Ruth Broyde Sharone talks with Bev Weise, a Los Angeles based refugee volunteer activist about the refugee crisis and an interfaith response.   Bev Weise has been a refugee activist since September 2016, when she traveled to Chios Island, Greece as an independent volunteer in the Souda Refugee Camp. She started the IKAR synagogue’s Refugee Support Group, organized two interfaith World Refugee Day events (2017 and 2018), and hosted an event for synagogues across Los Angeles (Jews for Refugees Assembly) to learn about the refugee crisis.   Ruth Broyde Sharone is an interfaith journalist and writer, most recently creator of  INTERFAITH: The Musical (  Her documentary, God and Allah Need to Talk and her interfaith memoir, MINEFIELDS & MIRACLES, have received multiple awards.  She is a regular correspondent for The Interfaith Observer.
