Asset Planner for the Arts: Making it Work for You!

We get it - thinking about asset management is enough to get your head spinning. We want to make it easy. Asset Planner for the Arts allows arts managers to track facility condition, plan for repairs and track cost of key facility components.

The best way to really understand what Asset Planner can do for you and your facility is to hear how it works for arts managers like you. We spoke to two arts managers from two drastically different facilities to see how they've used Asset Planner at their respective facilities.
What are people saying about Asset Planner?

Asset Planner has been a real vital tool for us. It's given us a real schedule of maintenance [...] a maintenance road-map as it were. For budgeting, its been particularly helpful because we've been able to set aside a certain amount of money each year for capital. [Asset Planner] leads to responsible management and stewardship of the museum.

- John Kastner
General Manager, Stratford Perth Museum

The [Asset Planner for the Arts] initial audit information was so thorough, we were able to have a really good idea of the equipment in our building and structure of our building and what would potentially need replacement in five years, and what could wait twenty years. I really think Asset Planner is a great tool for arts facilities.

- Karen O'Brien
Facilities Manager, Toronto Dance Foundation

The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage announced $5.1M for the Museum of Contemporary Art Toronto Canada from the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund. The investment will help transform 55,000 square feet of heritage-designated, former industrial space into a new forum for contemporary art in Toronto.

The Canada Cultural Spaces Fund will also be providing $8.3M to fund the revitalization of Massey Hall. Massey Hall will use the funds to renovate the hall with the goal of improving accessibility and updating technical infrastructure. The last major renovation at Massey Hall was in 1948.
