LBN Meetings

Date: Thursday 19 June
Time: 7pm-9pm
Venue: Westmorland Hotel, Tebay
Theme: Being Remarkable

June’s meeting combines a fabulously interesting speaker with a county-wide networking opportunity. We’re gathering a little further north for this one – at the Westmorland Hotel – because we’re joining forces with Eden Ladies and Cumbrian Women in Enterprise to create an exciting networking event.

Maggi Toner-Edgar is a fashion stylist, illustrator and NLP lifestyle coach based in Cockermouth. She has a lifetime of fashion knowledge from a background in design, linked to research and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) coaching techniques, a powerful and unique combination. Now a stylist with a difference, dressing people from the inside out,  she is passionate about the arts and learning from experience.

Being Remarkable, is simply about changing your mind, which can take place easily through a questioning of everyday language. Our life experiences of bodies, style and creativity don't have to shape our behaviour without question, self-perception is tricky but can be reshaped.  This session will help you to confirm the belief that you are already remarkable giving a few pointers to strengthen and express your conviction.  Along the way there is a bit of interaction in terms of associating with and disassociating from our bodies to gain a strengthened sense of empowerment. Their will also be a few style tips that explore the economy of being stylish, less shopping with better results!

The meeting is FREE for members and guests (£5 charge for refreshments for guests). Please register on Eventbrite on the LBN event booking page. We have to limit numbers to 40 due to room size so please book as soon as you know you can attend and let me know if you reserve a place but then can't come so I can release your ticket to someone else.

Date: Thursday 10 July
Time: 7pm-9pm
Venue: Halecat House and Gardens, Witherslack
Theme: Summer Social

Put this in your diary now! We’re gathering at Halecat House and Gardens for our annual summer social on the evening of 10 July (date chosen by popular demand). There’ll be a glass of fizz on arrival plus nibbles galore and maybe the odd game or two. We’re throwing this open to members and guests and we’re hoping for a really great evening. If the weather’s on our side, we’ll be able to enjoy the glorious gardens – picnic on the lawn, anyone?

The meeting is FREE for members and guests (£5 charge for refreshments for guests). We’ll be asking you to book using Eventbrite, I’ll upload the link soon.

Ruth will also provide invaluable information on the elements of corporate financial planning that underpin the culture: how to set up and run profit reward systems, what you can do to protect the directors, staff and business from unexpected death or illness, as well as the how to prepare for the new Auto Enrolment pension system.

This workshop is a great opportunity to stand back from the day-to-day work and take a strategic view of your business. There will be a chance to get your questions on financial planning answered as well as working on your own business issues.
