Gutsy Gal Award Takes Off!

A Year of Honoring Women Who Drive Their Own Destinies

Beginning in March 2014 with the Santa Barbara Women's Festival and wrapping up in November with both the announcement of the Gutsy Gals Film Award Winners as well as a Gala Celebration in Palm Beach, President Deborah Hutchison was kept busy speaking at Award Ceremonies around the country on behalf of an amazing gallery of women. Hutchison (second from left) presented Eva Hill (far right) with the Gutsy Gal Award. Hill is President and CEO of Britannia Pacific Properties and was being honored at the Palm Beach International Film Festival Gala organized by Randi Emerman of the PBIFF (second from right). Eva's sister, Mary Hyatt (far left) joined in the toast.

The Gutsy Gal Film Award will be presented during a weekend-long program, March 21-22 2015, in Great Barrington MA in conjunction with the Berkshire Festival of Women Writers. Feature Film Comedy Writer/Director Cathryn Michon (pictured here with Hutchison and actress Marissa Jaret Winoker) was the Grand Prize Winner of the 2014 film award for her comedy Muffin Top: A Love Story.

Innovate! Collaborate! Celebrate! In September, pictured (R-L) Inspirational speaker Teri Griege, Hutchison, SuperLawyer Tsan Abrahamson and President UPS International, Inc Americas Region Romaine M Seguin who along other women executives took part in the Go For The Green women's business conference and charity golf weekend.

Women in Film. In advance of the Palm Beach International Film Festival Gala, Hutchison hosted a brainstorming session on Women Filmmakers. Dr. Jahnae H. Barnett was honored with the Gutsy Gal Award in Education for her 25 years of transformative leadership at William Woods University in Fulton, MO. The Award was presented at a gala dinner for Barnett organized by the Board of Directors William Woods University.

Olivia "Liv" Amiri was presented with the Gutsy Girl Award in Los Angeles. Liv is the inspiration for a Children's Book Series and contributes her thoughts and opinions on the website livonlife.com.

In July, Gutsy Gals hosted a champagne cocktail networking event at the Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa. More than 30 women from the area attended to learn more about our mission and to get together with old friends -- and meet new friends as well!

Throughout the year, Hutchison continued with her mission to educate and inspire future generations of Gutsy Gals. She was invited to speak to a group of STEM educators at the South Florida Science Center and to screen the film she
wrote and directed The Improbable Journey of Berta Benz,and
will be returning to address a group of gifted young women in the GEMS (Girls in Engineering, Math & Science) this February.

March at the International Women's Festival Santa Barbara , Hutchison was on hand to present Gutsy Gal Awards and moderate a panel of Gutsy Gals.
