Playground Building Volunteer Team

All We Can Say is WOW!
Despite blazing sunshine and temps in the high 80’s, a group of FCC & CCC volunteers managed to accomplish the ambitious goal of assembling and installing five play structures and a shade umbrella in the new Kids Zone Playground area under the direction of Carl Pietila (Penchura, Inc.), on Thursday and Friday of last week.
Considering the puzzle that had to be solved in re-assembling the components of the large structure that was taken apart last fall and refurbished (thanks to David Russell), the team got some good mental, as well as physical, exercise. David’s tractor-powered auger saved a lot of digging, though there was still a lot of back-breaking shoveling to be done.
Pastors Chad and Ben made much-appreciated and delicious lunches to fuel the group and keep us going.
With this amazing work behind us, the concrete patio and sidewalks will be poured in the coming weeks and we will soon have a beautiful new playground for the little ones to enjoy.
Thanks to all who participated!
