I Praise You, Lord:

  • Summer registrations continue to be well over last year at this time. Each camper registration is an opportunity to set a heart on fire for Christ.
  • For years we have prayed that a 4.5-acre parcel next to Pine Chapel in the Fresh Start Village, would become camp property. Today that prayer is a reality as a contributor purchased the parcel and deeded it to the camp this winter. It is one of the last pieces of the property puzzle to be fulfilled. We are abundantly blessed!
  • The spring weather has helped the ARC project to move forward toward the September 1-2, 2018 ribbon-cutting ceremony. Funds continue to come in regularly to help offset the expense of furnishing the facility debt free.
  • Years ago we made an investment in South Africa and that investment is bearing much fruit. South African, Henry Bro and his wife Chris will be coming to Lake Ann for the two weeks of our summer staff training and for week one of camp to learn more that they can take back to their country and the camp they now direct.
  • The board and staff enjoyed a great day with consultant Doug Freeman in March. We have new ways of looking at how our ministry impacts campers and how we can be even more effective in reaching out to churches and parents; assisting them as they raise up the next generation for Christ.
  • The new website has been a great blessing drawing new people to our ministry. We have booked several new groups for the guest group season through its impact.
  • Northbridge Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan took on the project of raising $7,200 toward the A.R.C. climbing wall in memory of a camper who passed away this winter. They were able to meet and exceed their goal!
  • Man Camp planning is coming along well. Knute Larson will be the keynote speaker and we anticipate this to be a great kick-off to the use of the A.R.C. in the non-summer season.
I Pray For:
  • Our team as they hire individuals for our summer staff. Lake Ann Camp is driven more by people than property and although we are blessed with a great location and facilities – it is people that make us what we are – your prayers as we hire are greatly appreciated.
  • Dave Lamb, Mia Marckini, Ben and Kelsey West, Serena Snead, and Andrew Yount as they travel to Cuba. Our team will serve in Cuba April 13-22, 2018 to help a group of churches run a day camp. The long-range goals include the establishment of a full summer camp in the future.
  • Our recent appeal letter that promotes the need to build the climbing wall has been mailed and people are responding. Pray that the full $150,000 comes in to fully fund this project.
  • The A.R.C. construction crew. They have been safe through the winter months and we ask you to pray that the safety record will continue and that the project stays on time and on budget.
  • L.I.F.T. intern Ben West as he finishes his coursework with us and is looking to become a youth pastor in the fall after leading our Jump Start program this summer with his wife Kelsey.
  • Victoria VanTiem and Joe Deitzer will be married on April 28. They met here at Lake Ann Camp and serve in key roles on our team in the Red Canoe and Food Service.
