I Praise You, Lord:

  • We have hired our summer staff and we’re really encouraged about the prospects for the season. This is our 70th year and we are ready to make it a great one!
  • The A.R.C. funding is coming along well and we thank God for everyone who responded to the appeal letter for the climbing wall. Construction of the wall is scheduled to begin in late May.
  • Ken Riley was able to attend Ascend, a conference for directors of large camps. The knowledge he gained will help us continue to move forward in the years to come.
  • The LIFT team had a great trip to Cuba! We are so grateful for the everyone who gave financially to make this trip a reality. We are praying that what has begun will lead to a full-time camp in Cuba.
  • Registration for the summer has continued to out perform the previous years and as of this publication over 2,160 campers have already registered and there are programs that are completely maxed out for some of our camp weeks.
I Pray For:
  • Kristi, the wife of former LIFT intern Dave Sellers, recently found out that her cancer has returned. Her husband, Dave, is the Director of Camp Patmos in Ohio. Pray for the Sellers family as they seek the Lord’s guidance, healing, and strength at this time.
  • Pray for the remaining beds to be filled this summer. No life is ever changed with an empty bed.
  • Darrel Kirby, our Executive Chef, has decided to pursue another role and will be ending his time with us in June. We’re thankful for the time Darrel has served alongside our team. Please pray for someone to join our team who will love our campers by providing good food, served hot, on time, and within budget.
  • The funding for the A.R.C. has been encouraging to see coming in, but we still have approximately $300,000 to raise before the Grand Opening in September. Pray with us that this number will be met and exceeded so we can pay down our long-term property debt while still moving forward.
  • The training of our summer program directors beginning May 21st. Pray for Jake Walton as he gives them direction.
  • The staff as they are busy getting ready for the summer and at the same time making purchases for the A.R.C. finishings and furnishings. It will be a big project to have everything in place for the September 1st-2nd Grand Opening Celebration.
  • Camp Captains as they recruit campers. These people often end up arranging the rides for campers to come to camp and they need our prayer support.
  • We are in need of a retired couple who can mow the lawn and tend our wonderful flower beds. The need is for someone who can do this all summer long and who has a RV as our housing is limited.
  • Red Canoe staff as they are implementing new software for the store that will also make it easier for parents to help their campers with spending money at camp.
