Dear WriteCamp Participants,
First, we would like to thank you for your continued support over the course of the last five years. WriteCamp is a wonderful collaborative effort that happens not just because of the planning that goes into it beforehand but also because of the passion, understanding, and cooperation from all of you who come out every year to be a part of something truly unique.
Second, we want to say we're sorry. For the first time since its inception in 2009, WriteCamp will not be held this year, 2014. Our Director of Programming, J. Boone Dryden, is pursuing both a JD and MFA in Minnesota right now. And our Director of Operations, Niki Robinson, has been avidly helping with production of The Moth series of events in the city, along with running Post by Ghost, her ghostwriting business, full time. These things make it hard for us, as a team, to dedicate the time needed to put on WriteCamp.
So with that in mind we merely put things on hold. If there is to be a WriteCamp 2015, then we need help from the community. We welcome anyone with experience in management, leadership roles, event planning, etc. If you are interested, please contact J. Boone Dryden (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Niki Robinson (email@example.com) for information on what duties are included and some of the other demands.
WriteCamp will return without question when there is more time to be had by either Boone or Niki or both. There are a variety of plans for future events, projects, and endeavors, and WriteCamp will always be one of those.
Again, thank you.
Boone & Niki
