Data, Data, Data. Big data, little data. Flat data, round data. Real time data, meta data.
We are surrounded by data. Inundated with data. We have the numbers to quantify and qualify everything. Data scientists are the new rock stars. Just ask Nate Silver. But does all this data really matter?
The biggest challenge of big data is figuring out what’s the right data. Just because you can measure something doesn’t mean you should. Just because you can measure something doesn’t mean the data adds any insights or value to get you toward your goal. And of course, a lot of really important things just can't be readily measured, like the value of a relationship.
Versions of the old adage in this image are often attributed to Albert Einstein.
