This cartoon makes me think of mentors, teachers, etc... You know—the person we look to for advice or criticism and whatnot.
Sometimes a person gets so wrapped up in the idea of a new creation that one completely forgets how to make it materialize. Then they rush in desperation to the person whose advice has never failed them and wait for instruction.
But here’s the catch. That person will NEVER tell you what to do or how you should do it, and that’s what makes them great. They know you know how to do it and they want to see you figure it out. Then you leave, frustrated perhaps, but you’ve been given a little nugget of inspiration hidden in that conversation.
That’s what keeps us going back to that person. They inspire us—sometimes without saying anything at all.
