June Studio News

We had a great turnout for The Open Studios at The Screw Factory in May!

The empty easel above held one of the pieces that sold during the open house. The piece above it, “Super Real Tryptych,” sold as well.

Thank you to the SALON, my art critique group (Leslye Arian, Bonnie Dolin, Tom Roese, Mindy Tousley, and myself) for participating in the Open Studios. Above is Leslye Arian with some of the work she showed.

I am a member of the Altered Book Group, 9 women artists who meet monthly to share work and exchange ideas. As altered book artists we transform original content or the structure of books into unique, purposeful or whimsical objects using a variety of materials and techniques such as collage, assemblage, stitching, painting, printing, and sketching, often pushing the boundaries of the book as a recognizable object. Our annual group show at Loganberry Books on Larchmere was held in the month of May. Above is the cover of one of my altered books, “Chicken or Egg.” I will be posting details of the altered books I did for this show on my website in the next week or two.

“Wallpaper Scroll, Andante” is one of the prints in the series of work I did during the Covid shutdown called “Pandemia Symphony.” A print from this small edition was acquired by Tinnerman Lofts and is on display in their new apartment building. The print above is for sale in my studio now for $250. More details on this are on my website Email me with inquiries, studio is open by appointment any time. Let me know you would like to come by and see some prints!

In the studio now, woodcut printed colors and textures that I will be using for my next work. Stay tuned!
