The Universal Christ
Learning Series Begins Feb. 19

Guided study based on Richard Rohr's book

Join fellow seekers as we explore The Universal Christ  by Richard Rohr during a 7-week group learning experience. The series will take place on Wednesday afternoons from Feb. 19 through April 8, meeting from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Elk Haven Wellness Center in Brevard.

The subtitle of the book points to its breadth and depth: How a Forgotten Reality Can Change Everything We See, Hope for, and Believe. Publishers Weekly says The Universal Christ invites readers to "bring together their thinking about Jesus and Christ in order to recognize God in the world around them . . . Rohr’s innovative reflections will inspire readers to think deeply about the nature of God."

This series is recommended for Christians who want to deepen their faith and broaden their spiritual horizons. It's also recommended for Christians "in exile", and all seekers who find meaning in the story of Jesus of Nazareth.

Drawing on the book and a learning guide, participants in this series will experience in-depth discussions, peer learning, and group spiritual practices. Group size will be limited to insure a high-quality experience for all participants. Rob Field, director of Center for Spiritual Wisdom, will coordinate and lead the series. In addition to his work at Center for Spiritual Wisdom, Rob is a spiritual guide and teaches World Religions at Brevard College.

Tuition for the series is $199 per person, which includes 7 sessions of group facilitation, a copy of the companion book, and all additional materials. Participants are asked to commit themselves to attend at least 5 of the sessions. Payment may be made in advance HERE, and will be due at the end of the first session on Feb. 19. Pre-registration is required to reserve a space (first-come, first-served basis). To register or receive additional information, please send an email by Feb. 15 to

Here's Our New Logo!

Center for Spiritual Wisdom is proud to debut our new logo, designed by Katy Rosenberg of Think It Studio. During several months of reflection and discussion, the Center's leaders considered many different images, "tag lines", fonts and colors before settling on the image you see above. As we move into a new era at the Center, we plan to use our new design liberally. It will soon appear on business cards, our web site, and other materials promoting our work.

Living a Vibrant Spiritual Life — and supporting other seekers as they pursue the same goal — is what we're about. We think the tree design in the new logo is a good fit for our mission, as are the waves of energy flowing beneath the figure in the graphic.

We owe special thanks to a long-time supporter of the Center for funding this important work, and to Katy for her expert input and professionalism. Thanks go also to our board of directors for their wise counsel.

Cindy Decker is Center for Spiritual Wisdom's new Operations and Communications Manager. This is a new part-time position at the Center — one we have dreamt about since our second year of operation! Cindy came on our 2019 Pilgrimage to Italy, where she and Director Rob Field had a chance to get to know each other. Look for Cindy at CSW events this year, and please say "Hi"!
Are You In-Tune ...
or Out of Touch?

Most people lead busy, distracted lives — making it all too easy to lose touch with our souls. If you consider yourself "in tune" with the spiritual dimension of your life, let us congratulate you! Undoubtedly, this means you've made it a big priority. However, if you've lost touch with your deeper nature, please consider a no-cost consultation with CSW Director Rob Field. Rob offers 1-on-1 "soul friend" sessions with individuals who want to explore a deeper connection with their higher power and get re-connected to their true selves. Email or call Rob at (828) 577-8168. First session is free.
