Genesis 3: The Fall:  Marred and Broken
The expression 'drinking from a firehose' might describe what we have been experiencing in this series so far. The Bible paints a picture with broad strokes in just the first three chapters of the first book.  After the creation of the heavens and the earth and the wonder and beauty of the creation of humanity, we don't even have time to breathe before chaos breaks out.

The fact that we only have three chapters to describe creation and the fall into sin tells us something important.  The rest of the Bible, all 66 books, tell the story of God's plan of redemption.

This weeks message is a sobering one... one we must hear and understand.  The fall into sin is a very important 'starting point' when it comes to faith and life.  The story of the fall reveals much about why the world is the way it is.  It speaks volumes about why we experience the brokenness in our world today.  One chapter of the Bible can't tell us everything, yet it tells us much of what we need to know about sin and our need for God.

Read chapter three of Genesis for preparation this week.  As you read, what do you notice?  How does Satan change God's words and instructions to Adam and Eve?  Its interesting that God asks questions of Adam and Eve that I'm sure God already knows the answer.  Why might God ask the questions he does of Adam and Eve?  What might he be after?

See you Sunday,
Pastor Mark

Sunday School Schedule for Fall, 2016
Sunday School starts at 10:45 A.M. We are still in need of just two more volunteers for Sunday School classes.  Please pray that God will call to the hearts of those who are willing to teach  (see the announcement below :)

WE NEED YOU!
Our children's ministry is still in need of 2 more volunteers! We would like to have each volunteer help 2x a month for a class, so that all teachers can alternate teaching weeks. The lessons are pre-planned and written in the Dwell curriculum - no preparation needed from teachers. Plus: it is great spending time with our youth and getting to know them! Thank you and if willing, please email Jackie ASAP at:childrens@crestviewchurch.org.

Thanks :)

Community Garden Plans at Crestview
Over the last few months a garden committee, (Mark, Deone, Jess, Eleanor and Eileen) have been looking into the possibility of a community garden on Crestview's large plot of land. We are still in the planning stages and would welcome feedback, comments and anyone interested in becoming more involved - either in the planning process, or tending a plot next year.

Please keep this project in your prayers - that we can build not just garden plots, but lasting relationships and community as well. And that there may be many opportunities to extend God's love and grace to our corner of Boulder.

Jess & Danny to do Light the Night Walk
OK, the day has ALMOST arrived!  Danny and Jess will be doing the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk in Denver next Thursday, September 29.  The walk is to raise money for blood cancer patient treatments.  One of their really good friends, Zoe, had leukemia and is in remission but still needs to take a pill every day for the rest of her life.  (Zoe also works for the local Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Denver.)  If you are interested in sponsoring Jess and/or Dan for this very good cause that would be “awesome.”  Just click on their fund raising pages below:
