Seven (Hebrew) Ways to Praise!  This week we are between message series and are taking a week to worship through 7 old testament words that define different aspects of worship.  We will have a small teaching about each word and then worship with an expression that fits each word.

Yadah, hallel, towdah, barak, zamar, tehillah, and shabach!  Come and see what its all about. This promises to be a fun, informative, and engaging time of worship.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Mark

Scripture Passage
As a church community we are committing to memory a text from scripture every three months.  This quarter, we are committing to memory Jeremiah 9:23-24:

"This is what the Lord says, "Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast in this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the Lord."

Download Schedule for Fall, 2016
In download on Sunday we begin to shift from history of the church and creeds/confessions to talk about three main ways that the Christian faith has taken root and expression in actual belief and practice.  This is going to be fun as we unpack three main ways of faith expression in the lives of Christians around the world.  Come and learn these three main expressions and see perhaps where you personally may fit.  What does it mean to be Christian and 'Reformed'?  Join Mark and Deone after the service as they begin to unpack these things.  Topics are:

October  16th        3 Main Reformed Faith Expressions         Deone Quist

October 23rd         What we believe: Doctrinalist                   Roger Tinklenberg

October 30th         What we believe: Pietist                            Pastor Mark

Operation Christmas Child (Samaritan's Purse) season is here! At Crestview, we will be accepting shoeboxes (and or similar size plastic bins), items to fill shoeboxes, and/or already filled-shoeboxes from now until November 20th. More details in your bulletin this week!

October 22 Movie Night! It's a must see!

Movie night, October 22
Come and join us for a movie night at the church, Because of Winn Dixie!  Invite your friends!  Saturday, October 22nd, doors open at 5:30pm with the movie showing at 6:00pm.  Bring a blanket or your favorite camp chair if you like as we eat popcorn, sip some lemonade and hot cocoa, and enjoy a movie together.  Kids we encourage you to wear your halloween costume.

Movie theme: Opal (Anna Sophia Robb), a 10 year-old girl, moves with her preacher father (Jeff Daniels) to a small town in Florida.  Lonely and missing her old friends, Opal is ecstatic to find companionship with a rambunctious little dog she names Winn Dixie, after the store where she found the pup. With Winn-Dixie's help, Opal befriends several colorful townsfolk (Cicely Tyson, Eva Marie Saint, Dave Matthews) and even begins mending her relationship with her father.

The staff and council are delighted to have Cat onboard.

Tithing
The Crestview Deacons encourage members and regular attendees to use a bill payment service or the Automatic Clearing House (ACH) for their regular giving. The advantages include not having to remember to write a check, continuing your giving while on vacation and providing Crestview with a more consistent revenue stream. Most banks or credit unions offer a bill payment service (call or check their web site). To set up ACH (automatic withdrawals from your checking account), ask Peter Ruh for assistance. Please ask a deacon or Joe VanAndel if you have any questions.
