Hebrews 4:1-11
We have a work day!  Before the Sabbath Day!  Church Clean up!  This Saturday, May 7 - we will be celebrating stewardship of our properties!  Come and help clean, weed, landscape, organize... we could use you - and we will also attempt to build some community together as we work.  9:00am to 1:00pm.  Yeah!  Even if you can come for a little bit of time - we welcome you.
This coming Sunday we will be exploring the practice of Sabbath.  In this age of 24/7 availability and around the clock scheduling, Sabbath is becoming a lost practice.  The Hebrew Word for Sabbath is shabat... it means STOP!  HALT!  CEASE!  What does God call us to when it comes to Sabbath practice?  What are we to stop?  And what are we to engage?  We will explore the creational, legislative, and redemptive emphasis in Scripture of Sabbath practice together.  So much to read about Sabbath in the Bible, but take a look at Hebrews 4:1-11.  Its an interesting reflection on Sabbath.  Jesus Christ has fulfilled the Sabbath and all that it represents and means.  But are we still to practice a literal 24 hour time of stopping?  Can't cover it all in 25 minutes on Sunday, but we will unpack some more in download. (Its Mothers Day and Joe's Retirement Congrat too...)  See you soon.  Can't wait to worship with you.

High Way Church Ministry Opportunity/Change
We have some summer news to pass on to all of you.  Beginning in June, High Way Church is celebrating an expansion of their ministry by moving to another location.  Pastor Steve has communicated clearly God's leading for them by opening an opportunity in a local school as a home base for ministry.  On May 29th, we will be celebrating what God has done among us through the partnership we have enjoyed for the past year.  Representatives from High Way will join us for worship to communicate God's love to us and thanks for a much needed 'sabbath' year for them.  Come and hear Pastor Steve share how God has lead High Way Church to launch into their new ministry space for reasons of calling, identity, and for expansion of their ministry.  We will be having representatives from Crestview as well attend High Way's worship service to bless High Way Church in this new chapter.
We have been blessed to be partners with High Way during this transition time in each of our ministries.  We have grown and been stretched as we both have worked together to share space and time together.  We are better for having been together.  High Way Church will continue to be engaged in worship practices and other various meetings in our church building.  May God's Kingdom grow as High Way and Crestview look to what is next.

Children's Sunday School 10:15 am
Sunday School this year has been focusing on characters of the Old Testament. Ruth and Jackie have come up with a plan to help Crestview Children learn more in-depth about these characters.  This Sunday, we will be talking about one of those characters and how they are part of God's great big plan.

Teacher Needed for Summer Session Young Children's Worship (YCW)
We still need just one more volunteer teacher to fill out our summertime schedule for Young Children's Worship.  We have three of the four volunteers needed to teach YCW this summer (Praise God!).  Our volunteers need to teach only once per month during June, July and August.  This will offer some R&R for the folks who so lovingly give themselves to the little ones during the school year.  Contact Jackie & Ruth at if interested.

Survey about a Possible Summer and Fall Worship Hour Change
Beginning in June, we have the opportunity to move our worship service from 9:00am to another time.  You will soon be receiving a Survey Monkey survey via Email.  Please give us your feedback to the three questions on the survey and we will communicate what we find, and possible worship hour change.  We will also make some written surveys available for response if needed.

Spring Cleanup Day
Please plan on helping out with the cleanup day Saturday, May 7.  There is a long list of chores that need doing before the Madison House is ready to become the Quist Home!  Please bring gloves, gardening tools and window washing fluid. If you have a truck and would be willing to haul branches to be composted, please let me (Debbie) know. Lots of chores--something for everyone!  If you have any questions please contact Debbie at
