Glorifying God
Message from Pastor Mark
Crestview Family,
Yes!  Sunday is coming - and I can't wait to worship our Lord together.  This Sunday is Part 2 of our Mission/Vision series:Becoming Like Christ!  Our text is Philippians 1:3-11.  As you read the text in preparation for Sunday, ask yourself these two questions: Is 'Becoming Like Christ' something that happens quickly or is it a journey - more like a process?  (Where do you see evidence for this answer in the text?)  And what does becoming like Christ look like?  (Again, do you see some answers to this question in the text?)  See you Sunday!
By the way, several of you followed up last weeks sermon on Glorifying God with questions, one being: How do I know if something is an idol in my life?  There will be a tool in your bulletin this Sunday that will help you in discerning what potentially could be functioning as an idol in your own life.
In Christ,
Pastor Mark

Becoming Like Christ

Requests for Prayer
Please pray for Carol Ackerman, a former Crestview member.  Carol had a bad fall down stairs, breaking her ankle and splintering leg bones.  She is in PowerBack Rehabilitation Center in Lafayette.
- M & J Van Andel

Please pray for Pastor Mark who left Boulder at 2pm today to drive to Des Moines, Iowa to pick up his van*.  Ask for dry, safe roads and stamina to last through the 18 hour round trip (he will stop and get a hotel room tonight).
*If you have not yet heard about the epic breakdown he had in Adaire, Iowa last week, you should ask him about it.

Discipleship Training - an Amazing Opportunity for Crestview
PLEASE NOTE that Crestview will pay the fee to attend this (great!) training course.
One of our Healthy Church initiatives is to learn about, and excel in, Discipleship.  We have a great opportunity for interested church members.  There is a 3DM Discipleship and Mission Workshop January 28-30, beginning at 2pm on Thursday, January 28 and concluding at 12:30pm on Saturday, January 30th in Littleton (we’ll be carpooling).  This workshop provides an opportunity for us to be introduced to the disciple-making tools and resources of 3DM and the Learning Community process being supported by the Together in Mission / Front Range initiative, funded in part by Classis Rocky Mountain (that’s OUR church’s regional council).  This workshop provides an opportunity to experience the tools and strategies field-tested over the past two decades to train leaders in developing a disciple-making culture.    Mark has been involved with 3DM and will be returning early to Colorado to take this workshop.  We’re looking for others who have a heart for this ministry.

If you are interested, please contact Muffie VanAndel (303) 444-7036 or margaret.vanandel@gmail.com by January 15.
