We Can Only Imagine
Jeff & Terri
On February 6th, Terri was with her mom, Norma Fitzpatrick, in the living room of her townhouse in Knoxville, Tennessee. Norma was lying in the hospital bed provided by hospice. At about 9:30 PM, Terri noticed that her mom was having difficulty breathing and felt impressed to play some music. First, she played the song Come to Jesus, by Chris Rice. Then, as the message and music of I Can Only Imagine (Mercy Me) filled the room, Norma peacefully passed from this world into the presence of the Lord.
Norma was active right up until the last few weeks of her life, so few people knew she had been battling cancer. Just a few months ago (October 2011), Norma found out that the cancer, which had been in remission for several years, had returned. We thank God that He worked it out for us to be in Knoxville the past five months of her life and share many special times with her.
We will miss “Nanny” very much, but take comfort in knowing that she is with the Lord. As we still try to imagine what it will be like to be in God’s presence, surrounded by His glory, she is in heaven enjoying His presence. We rejoice in the assurance that we will join her there someday.
We would greatly appreciate your prayers during this difficult time. To read the obituary or sign the guest book click here.
