Fayetteville Ballpark to be Named SEGRA Stadium

The City of Fayetteville and Fayetteville Woodpeckers announced today that they have entered into a long-term agreement with SEGRA, one of the largest independent fiber bandwidth companies in the United States, to name their downtown, $40 million ballpark as SEGRA Stadium. Segra will serve as the stadium’s Official Communications Services Partner. More Info

City Celebrates Engineers Week

The City of Fayetteville’s Engineering Division will be celebrating Engineers Week by hosting an E-Week Fair at City Hall on Thursday, Feb. 21. Citizens, engineering partners and City employees will be invited to join the division for presentations, demonstrations, food, fun and giveaways related to the engineering field. The event will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More Info

Citizens Academy Public Safety Day Being Held on Feb. 26

The next Fayetteville Citizens Academy class is being held on Tuesday, Feb. 26, starting in the Police Department Headquarters, located at 467 Hay St, which is adjacent to City Hall and across from the Prince Charles Hotel. Class begins at 8:15 a.m. and features the Fayetteville Police and Fire departments. The class is being held just in time for citizens to get their last chance to meet retiring Fire Chief Ben Major. More Info

City Council Chooses Strategic Initiatives for Next Fiscal Year

The Fayetteville City Council, based on the City’s established Strategic Priorities, identified several initiatives for the next 12-18 months at this weekend’s annual Strategic Planning Retreat. Strategic planning is a roadmap employed by many local governments to guide the use of money, personnel and resources to realize a shared vision of the future. It outlines what a community hopes to achieve through a long-term and annual goal-setting process and provides steps for reaching those goals. More Info
