Sukkot Festival Service
followed by light lunch in the Sukkah
Saturday, September 26th at 9:30am
To celebrate Sukkot, we'll have a full morning service with Torah readings and lulav shaking. Please help make a minyan for those reciting Kaddish.
Then, weather permitting, we'll sit at the lunch table together under the beautiful decorations of our sukkah! We'll practice the mitzvah of eating in this welcoming temporary structure as friends with a light meal of sandwiches and homemade soups, provided by CAA.

Join Us for Monadnock United Way’s Day of Caring
Wednesday, September 30th
Help CAA make a difference in our community! We’re looking for 3–4 volunteers to form a team for MUW’s Day of Caring!
This community-wide volunteer day brings people together to support local nonprofits through hands-on projects such as landscaping, painting, organizing, and facility improvements. Projects are 2–4 hours, making it easy to participate for a morning or afternoon.
Bring your time, your energy, and your CAA spirit — and let’s do a mitzvah together!

 To celebrate Hoshana Rabah, Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah we'll have a full morning service with Torah readings.
Following the Torah service, to honor our loved ones who we've lost, there will be a Yizkor service.

Simchat Torah Celebration
Saturday, October 3rd at 5:00pm
Join us for a family celebration of Torah with Rabbi Dan and Lainee Ginsberg! We will complete the reading of Deuteronomy together and then begin all over again with Genesis. All the children will have an aliyah under a gigantic tallit. There will be music, dancing, laughter, and treats!

October Shadows: Remembering, Reflecting & Coming Together

As we mark October 7 and its enduring impact on Israel and Jewish communities around the world, the Jewish Federation of New Hampshire invites our community to come together for a screening of *October Shadows* in Manchester and Portsmouth.
Through deeply human stories of loss, resilience, and hope, the film offers an opportunity to reflect on this pivotal moment in Jewish history and the ways its impact continues to be felt. Each screening will be followed by a facilitated conversation with subject matter experts, creating space to learn, listen, reflect, and share together.
Open to the entire community, this gathering is an opportunity for remembrance, connection, and Jewish solidarity.

Location and parking details will be emailed 24 hours before the screening for security purposes.

 The CAA Book Club
The Slave by Isaac Bashevis Singer
Sunday, October 11th at 10:15am
Set in 17th-century Poland, Isaac Bashevis Singer’s The Slave follows Jacob, a Jewish scholar who is captured and sold into slavery. Amid hardship and danger, he finds love with Wanda, a Christian peasant, while struggling to remain connected to his Jewish faith and identity. A powerful story of love, faith, survival, and Jewish resilience, the novel invites reflection on what it means to hold onto one’s identity in a challenging world.
The CAA Book Club will get together again on Sunday, October 11th, 2026. We gather in the downstairs social hall at CAA at about 10:15AM to share goodies (often bagels) and start the discussion at 10:30AM. All are welcome!
