"There's Always An Opportunity for Happy"

Despite any obstacle or challenge we all have the opportunity to choose our route through it. Heather Smith will share how she has actively pursued a life of joy and persevered through every obstacle. Encouraging us all to find the happy in every situation.
Heather Smith has long been an advocate for social change. After graduating from St. Mary-of-the-Woods with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, she spent 11 years working with victims of domestic violence. She helped families in crisis, facilitated support groups, developed programs and educated more than 2,000 people about the dynamics of abuse. In 1998, Heather was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Not only did her activism shift to the fight for health and well-being for herself and others but so did most aspects of her life. In the 16 years since Heather’s diagnosis she has been very intentional in creating the best life for herself and others. Through the power of social media, Heather continues to teach and inspire as she openly shares her everyday experiences living with a chronic debilitating disease. She’s the mother of an amazing 11 year old Ezra, a sister, a daughter, friend to many and a Hope Curator.
