The government is planning to shift the country’s entire milk sector to solar energy—from farmers onward to processors—through an upfront subsidy of 30%. A policy, in the works, will be announced soon, Dilip Rath, the chairman of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), told HT on Wednesday.
The Andhra Pradesh Government on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding with the Adani Group to build data center parks in and around Visakhapatnam over the next 20 years. The ambitious project, with a staggering investment of Rs 70,000 crore, would be a first-of-its-kind 100 per cent renewable energy powered project in the world, officials said. Adani will set up 5 gigawatts solar parks to power these proposed data centres.

The Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India has just signed an agreement with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) for the deployment of 15 electric vehicles for their officers. In order to charge these vehicles, a total of 28 charging points that include 24 Slow charging points and 4 Fast Charging Points have been installed at North Block.
The New Delhi Municipal Council on Wednesday replaced 50,000 conventional electricity meters with smart meters, making NDMC the first distribution company in India to implement 100% smart metering solution. The adoption of smart meters will enhance consumer convenience and rationalise electricity consumption.
