Happy Friday,

I'm not going to lie, it's been a rough week. Each school shooting is tough, but when it's one county away and you know kids who go to that school, and friends who went there the reality of it hits home.

Last night Sean Scott, owner of Subculture, called a town hall meeting to discuss "school shootings and the issues that surround it". About 80 people showed up and the discussion in the alley continued for 2 hours. West Palm PD Officers, teachers, parents, people who worked in Mental Health, people who have struggled with mental health issues, all got together to discuss this issue. The ground rules were simple: only talk about what we can do as individuals, no discussion on government or partisan politics.

The discussion was emotional at times, but it was inspiring to see the community come together to try to find real solutions.

One of my neighbors, Ben put it this way:

"A big part of the solution is you and me. Who is your neighbor? We all live in a city and we all have neighbors. Whether you’re 27 or 34 it’s your job to look after your neighbor. Talk to our neighbor's kid, pay them to mow your lawn. Talk to them about the car they are building, or whatever you’re into. If everyone looks after our neighbors, then everyone has each other’s backs."

I will be writing more in the upcoming weeks about this.

Big grand openings this week!

We have been waiting for these things a loooong time, but REJOICE they are finally here.

Katerina Wagner, the publisher of Miami Art Scene and full-time arts promoter, took wind of the project and enthusiastically joined the trio making it a well-rounded powerhouse project to promote the love of The City of West Palm Beach.
