Shakespeare Birthplace Trust What News? View Online

We are sorry that all five of Shakespeare’s family homes and the Shakespeare Centre in Stratford-upon-Avon are closed until further notice.

We can’t welcome you in person right now but our virtual doors are wide open.  We’re currently exploring more ways for visitors to enjoy our wonderful houses and collections in a digital space.

These difficult times create a significant financial challenge for the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.  While we are closed, we still face essential costs to keep the world’s richest Shakespearian heritage in Stratford-upon-Avon safe and in good repair, so that people can continue to enjoy, learn and be inspired by it. Please support us if you possibly can.

Experience William Shakespeare's work and life your way through Shakespedia, our digital encyclopedia.
