Letter from your Woodfield President

Thank you to our wonderful neighborhood. Woodfield you answered the call to volunteer. We created many new volunteer positions to spread out the responsibilities and continue to grow with this amazing community. Your new boards term begins 2023-2024 though many have already stepped into their roles.

We still have a few positions to fill. You can give as much or as little time as you have to offer. Volunteer opportunities range from one-time projects to longer commitments. You can choose from a variety of opportunities to fit your schedule and interests.

Email me with any questions at robinkw@kw.com

NO LIFEGUARDS:

As you are aware, the national lifeguard shortage has had an impact on our community. It has been so severe Sears had to cancel guard services completely in some communities. The lifeguard availability has dwindled down to next to nothing now that all the local schools are back in session, sports have started up for the fall, and the last of the college students are heading back to school this week.

Please help us the last few weeks of the season by noting:
  • There will be days of "Swim at your own risk"
  • Please clean up after yourself around the pool and in the bathrooms
  • Put umbrellas down at end of day
  • Throw all trash away
  • Please take toys, clothes, floats, and anything else that belongs to you home when leaving the pool
  • Consider recommending a life guard for next year at our pool management company
  • Remember to also check the Lost and Found bin for any items you may have left there before the pool closes on September 25th.  Any items not claimed by that date will be donated or discarded"

Letter From Your Neighbor

Hello Woodfield,

In the spirit of our theme ‘kindness ‘ and inspired by the wonderful story in the last newsletter, about the love and help neighbors gave a family going through cancer; I had an idea!

Having cared for my husband through cancer and not being able to drive myself, I understand the difference any offers of assistance can make. Often people are too embarrassed to ask or are maybe new to the neighborhood and don’t actually have anyone to ask .

I am happy to be that point of contact to organize such help. If you need a ride to an appointment I could put the request out on the fb wall for you , with or without your name if that’s what you prefer. Maybe you would just like someone to sit and chat on the porch, as caring for someone sick can be a lonely thing.

Whatever you need, maybe help in setting up online, mowing, putting out the trash cans, fetching prescriptions or groceries, putting in a high light bulb or walking a dog. Reach out if you need a vital item but you can’t get out to buy it and it could be left on the doorstep for you. Whatever you need help with I can put the word out without sharing your name.  Maybe money is tight and you need children's clothes or baby equipment in a certain size, I recently put out the word for someone in this circumstance, I had a great response and the family was so grateful

Whatever the need please call or text me on.
