Co-financed by the European Commission in the frame of the Erasmus+ programme, BIG4SPORTS aims at connecting funding sources (public and private) with sports organisations to jointly develop new and innovative collaboration schemes in good governance for sport.

BIG4SPORTS PROJECT
GOOD GOVERNANCE IN SPORT: FOR WHAT PURPOSE?

Adopting new and innovative mechanisms of good governance will have a direct and positive effect in the overall image of the sport organisations and likely increase the sponsorship revenues and attractiveness of the sport. Then the general objective of the project is to strengthen good governance capacities of sport organisations fruit of their collaboration with public and private sponsors, achieving long-lasting cooperation between them.

To achieve this objective, Big4Sports developed a good governance scheme, based on three main categories:

  1. Organisation of the Governance
  2. Functioning of the Governance
  3. Policies relating to the protection of the sport integrity

GOOD GOVERNANCE STANDARDS - IMPLEMENTATION GUIDELINES
BECOME AN AGENT OF CHANGE !
One of the innovative tools of the BIG4SPORT collaborative scheme is the possibility for the sponsors (private and public) to host sport organisations and share relevant experiences through SHORT-TERM INTERNSHIPS. These internships aim at promoting mutual knowledge and learning regarding Good Governance. The individuals who have followed and validated the internships will become, within their respective organisations, "AGENTS OF CHANGE"
MORE INFORMATION
Five partners of BIG4SPORTS successfully developed Agents of Change with virtual internships (Olympiacos, Catalan Sport Council, Wiener Sport Club, TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Aalborg Boldspilklub AF 1885).
3 sessions occurred between our partner, the Catalan Sport Council, and Atlètic Terrassa HC.
Our partner, TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen organized virtual sessions in December 2020 with Bayer AG to discuss about transparency and conflict of interests.
