The Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ

The National Weather Service predicts that a major winter storm will affect the Northeast.  There is a chance that much of the areas in the region will experience heavy snow from Friday to Sunday.  It is important to heed the advice from your respective local emergency management office. 

Please call (856-795-1560) before traveling to any of our service centers for confirmation that our location is open. Stay in the loop by following us online @GSCSNJ on Facebook and Twitter. Check the Cookie Team App for weather related updates regarding cookie trucks and warehouses. 

Girl Scouts, let's be prepared!
  • Check that your emergency kit is fully stocked with supplies. 
  • Winterize your vehicle
  • Update your emergency kits in your vehicles
    • A shovel
    • Windshield scraper and small broom
    • Flashlight
    • Battery powered radio
    • Extra batteries
    • Water
    • Snack food
    • Matches
    • Extra hats, socks and mittens
    • First aid kit with pocket knife
    • Necessary medications
    • Blanket(s)
    • Tow chain or rope
    • Road salt and sand
    • Booster cables
    • Emergency flares
    • Fluorescent distress flag
  • Sign-up and keep abreast of updates.  There are free Website Applications from FEMA, American Redcross, and local emergency local alerts.
  •  Keep in mind that depending on the severity of the storm, local officials might impose travel restrictions.
As of right now, it is not certain the severity of the storm however, it is best to be prepared. As always our priority is for the safety of all our Girl Scout families, please follow all restrictions and advisories by your local authorities.
