The Armenian Church Leader

To:   The Reverend Clergy and Parish Council Chairs
Re:   The Feast of Holy Etchmiadzin on Sunday, June 7.
My blessings to you all.
As you know, on Sunday, June 7, 2015, the worldwide Armenian Church will celebrate the Feast of Holy Etchmiadzin—one of the unique religious observances of the Armenian Christian heritage.
With this directive, I am reminding all parishes in our Diocese to conduct the special prayer service for the occasion as part of the regular liturgical services this Sunday.
The text of the prayer service is contained in the booklet, “Order of Special Prayer for the Catholicos and on the Feast of Holy Etchmiadzin” (volume No. 4 in the Diocesan Liturgical Series). A copy of this booklet was previously sent to every pastor in our Diocese. An electronic file, in PDF format, has also been previously sent to our pastors, and is available for download here.
Also, we recommend that on this Sunday (or on one of the upcoming Sundays) our parishes make an effort to publicly screen the recent short video produced by the Mother See, on its work in Armenia. Click here to view the film.
Also available for screening is the one-hour film produced by our Diocese, “Everyone Prays at Holy Etchmiadzin,” which would be very appropriate for this season.
We remind you that the more recent production of our Diocesan Communications department, “A Great Cloud of Witnesses,” on the subject of sainthood as it pertains to the canonization of the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide, would also make an excellent Sunday School or after church program.

The Diocese makes these resources available and accessible in order to enrich the spiritual and intellectual life in our parishes; please utilize them among your parishioners.
May our risen Lord bless and strengthen our holy Mother See, and may He continue to guide His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, in his leadership of our church and his ministry to the entire Armenian nation.

With prayers,

Archbishop Khajag Barsamian
