DEEPENING Your Marriage
The following opportunities are great for any couple who feels that now is the time for an infusion of enrichment and encouragement for their marriage:

Lake Anne's Couples Retreat:
You may have heard the phrase – “Come apart before you come apart.” Jesus said something similar to his disciples when he gave this invitation: “Come away by yourselves to a remote place and rest for a while.” (Mark 6:31). Life is demanding and complicated. Without intentional practices of rest and renewal none of us are able to keep perspective. This is especially true of marriage relationships. Without tending, the spark that brought a couple together can begin to fade. Lake Ann Camp’s Couples Retreat is perfectly designed to stir the embers and reignite the flame.

Whether you are just beginning the marriage journey, or have been married for decades, you can expect to be encouraged and filled with hope for the days ahead. Practical messages, engaging activities, and quiet moments provide rest and renewal. Join us at beautiful Lake Ann Camp and discover life at its best.

Marriage Conference at Creekside Church:

What if your marriage is simply okay, but the spark has gone? How can couples regain the excitement they once knew in their marriages?  On February 10-11, 2023, Creekside Community Church (on South Airport behind Best Buy) is hosting a two-day marriage experience featuring Dr. Greg and Erin Smalley in person from Focus on the Family.

As they share personal stories and what they learned as they moved from married roommates to soulmates in their marriage, the Smalleys will inspire and equip you to move into a new place of connection and enjoyment in the journey of marriage.  For more information,

Christmas Offering Update!
We are thrilled to share with you that our Christmas Offering total has passed $30,000! Thank you for your generosity!

BIG thanks to our stalwart volunteers who helped "put Christmas away" on Monday morning!
We appreciate you: Diane and Bob Portenga, Jim Seidel, Mike and Carey Wills, Maurine Kuiken, Carole Bell, Robbie and Ernie Kafcas, Russ Miller, Sherry Oyer, Linda Herkner, Rick Smith, Dave Jankowski, Barbara and George Kausler!

You will notice that one tree remains in the Sanctuary. The Chrismon Tree has a lot of history at FCC:
Mabel Russell, mother of David Russell, brought the idea of the Chrismon Tree ornaments to the ladies of FCC many years ago.  Chrismons are Christmas decorations with Christian symbols on them. They help Christians to remember that Christmas is the celebration of Jesus' birthday. Chrismons are traditionally colored white and gold. White is the liturgical color for Christmas and symbolizes that Jesus was pure and perfect. Gold symbolizes His Majesty and Glory. Chrismons can be made from nearly anything, but paper and embroidered ones are the most widely used.  A workshop group of ladies from the church was formed.  These ladies met for many months to make the ornaments displayed on our beautiful Chrismon Tree.

Upcoming SALT Class

Go Deeper in your faith on Thursdays from 3:30 to 5:00 in the chapel. We begin 2/2 and continue through 3/30.

Jesus is the most famous human being in all of history. But while many people have a basic sketch of Jesus in their minds, comparatively few have taken time to read the four biographies of his life in the New Testament Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

This Salt winter class is open to all ages but especially welcomes seniors. We will meet in the chapel for 9 Thursdays.
Warm up your winter with Jesus! Join me as we go deeper into the Gospels with Award-Winning Author Rebecca McLaughlin in her book, "Confronting Jesus: 9 Encounters with the Hero of the Gospels." This is a beautiful exploration of the 4 New Testament biographies of Jesus. She provides biblical and historical context and explores: Jesus as a Jewish man, the Son of God, the promised King, a mighty healer, the greatest teacher, a lover of sinners, a suffering servant, a perfect sacrifice, and the universal Lord.

This study is winsome and informative. She mixes thorough research with an approachable writing style and cultural references to help us grasp biblical truths. Bring your friends. Her work is very approachable. If you enjoy reading, you will find her explanation of the 4 Gospels is accessible. If reading is a challenge, come and learn from the discussion. I promise you a spirited presentation of the single most important person in history and in the Christian faith. Go deeper into Jesus this winter in this friendly and winsome Salt class. Bring your friends!

Book and study guide are $20.00. Available soon in the Cross Way
