FALKEN TIRE TAKES TOP HONORS AT SMITTYBILT EVERY MAN CHALLENGE FOR FOURTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

LANDERS, CA – Falken Tire, the manufacturer of high performance on-and off-road tires available for a wide array of popular cars trucks, off-road vehicles and crossovers, finished first for the fourth time in a row at the demanding Smittybilt Every Man Challenge in partnership with Savvy Off Road/Currie Enterprises and driver Brandon Currie.

Currie, son of veteran off-roader John Currie who has won the Every Man Challenge the last three years, took first overall and was also first in the Modified Class, where the top three podium drivers ran on Falken tires.

“This is truly an extraordinary streak, and a great deal of the credit has to go to Falken,” stated John Currie.  “I’m proud of Brandon, who performed so well in what proved to be an extremely tough race where only 12 vehicles finished.”

Of those 12 finishers, five were on Falken’s WILDPEAK tire.  Taking first in the Spec Class was driver Luke Johnson.

“This year’s Every Man Challenge proved to be one that saw the ‘passing of the baton’ as a younger generation of off-roaders is taking over, having learned from their parents,” noted Nestor Cabrera, Falken Tire’s Supervisor of off-road motorsports.  “Brandon Currie battled 16-year-old Jordan Pellegrino, son of Tony, who led a majority of the race.  Brandon kept up the pressure until mechanical problems five miles from the finish took Jordan out of the race.”

As in previous years, the Every Man Challenge was designed at a length of approximately 150 miles, with many drivers stating the course was probably the hardest to navigate to date.

Class Finishers in the Modified Class (all on Falken WILDPEAK M/T 37x12.50R17 tires):

  1. Brandon Currie (Jeep JK-R)
  2. Jordan Townsend (Jeep Wrangler)
  3. Shawn Rants (Vintage Jeep Willys)

Separately, at the end of the main race on Friday – the annual King of the Hammers run – Driver Tony Pellegrino, running on Falken tires, came in ninth out of only 17 finishers, a significant accomplishment as 149 cars started the race. This was the maiden voyage for the GenRight Ultra4. Prior to the race it only had 300 miles of pre-running. The main race consisted of 220 miles of the toughest terrain and is the longest King of the Hammers race ever.
