Fellowship Opportunity to Attend 2018 ACS Leadership/Advocacy Summit
Are you interested in attending the 2108 American College of Surgeons Leadership and Advocacy Summit in Washington, DC, May 19-22, 2018? 
The Georgia Society of the American College of Surgeons (GSACS) is seeking applicants for its annual Leadership Fellowships.
Every year GSACS provides a Fellowship opportunity for a Surgical Resident and a Young Surgeon (within 5 years of residency completion) to attend the ACS Leadership and Advocacy Summit in Washington, D.C. (May 19-22, 2018). The Summit is a dual meeting that offers volunteer leaders and advocates specialized educational sessions focused on effective surgeon leadership, interactive advocacy training and coordinated visits to Congressional offices.
Surgical Residents and Young Surgeons that are members of GSACS may apply for this fellowship by submitting a letter via email to, detailing how they believe attending the ACS Leadership/Advocacy Summit will impact their career in surgery. The Fellowship provides $1500 to cover the costs of transportation, lodging and registration to attend the Summit. All applicants must be available AND attend all events at the Summit including the Congressional visits on Tuesday, May 22nd, attend the 2018 GSACS Annual Meeting August 17-19, 2018 and submit a report to the GSACS Leadership following the Summit.
The deadline for GSACS Leadership Fellowship Applications is March 1, 2018 with winners notified by March 15, 2018.

ACS Leadership & Advocacy Summit

Registration Now Open

The American College of Surgeons will host the seventh annual Leadership & Advocacy Summit, May 19–22 at the Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel. The Summit is a dual meeting offering comprehensive and specialized sessions that provide volunteer leaders and advocates with the skills and tools they need to be effective in their roles.
Register by Monday, April 23 to take advantage of the early bird rate!

Nominations for ACS Board of Regents, Officers-Elect due February 23

The 2018 Nominating Committee of the Fellows (NCF) and the Nominating Committee of the Board of Governors (NCBG) will be selecting nominees for leadership positions in the College.
Call for Nominations for Officers-Elect

The 2018 NCF will select nominees for the three Officer-Elect positions of the ACS: President-Elect, First Vice-President-Elect, and Second Vice-President-Elect.
Call for Nominations for Board of Regents

The 2018 NCBG will select nominees for pending vacancies on the Board of Regents to be filled at Clinical Congress 2018.

Call for Abstracts and Videos for 2018 Clinical Congress

The Call for Abstracts and Videos for Clinical Congress 2018, October 21–25 in Boston, MA, is now open. You may submit abstracts for the Owen H. Wangensteen Scientific Forum or videos for the Video-Based Education Sessions online. The last day to submit abstracts and videos is Thursday, March 1 at 5:00 pm (CST).
