A Message from the PHIMA President
Submitted by: Margie Stackhouse, RHIA
It has been a pleasure to serve as your President this year and I can’t believe how quickly time is going by. Some of the activities we have completed are updates to the Strategic Plan, six new webinars, which you can access here and a well-attended Fall Conference. We also have a newly designed Legal Manual portal that is filled with vital and informative information. The Board has been staying current with the AHIMA Transformation Plan that is being developed and will keep you informed of the progress.
The PHIMA Executive Committee and I are sorry to inform you that Tabby McDaniel has resigned from her position as PHIMA President-Elect for 2018-2019. The Executive Committee has asked me to take on the remaining duties of the President-Elect, along with those of the President for the rest of this year. In addition, Chris Parfitt, PHIMA Past President was asked to stay on for an additional year in this office.
Please join me in wishing Tabby the best in her future endeavors.
The PHIMA Board and Committees have been very busy with preparations for our Annual Conference in May. The agenda is packed with exciting and diverse sessions. This is a great time to earn CEUs at a continued low price and to network with other HIM professionals, industry partners and students. My theme this year is “Dream it, Wish it, Do it” and I hope you have spread your wings and are ready to go to new heights and dreams. Please join me at the 81st PHIMA Annual Conference at the Penn Stater May 20-21, 2019. Check out our agenda and register now.
Thank you again for this opportunity and look forward to seeing you in May.
