September is Childhood Cancer
Awareness Month

Did you know that 50 per cent of wish kids face an everyday battle against cancer? For children fighting this illness, a wish is more than an escape — it's a beacon of hope that lets them imagine a life without medical procedures, chemotherapy or radiation.

Fifteen-year-old Sharon received a devastating cancer diagnosis, something no young person should have to go through. When she discovered that she was eligible for a wish, she  wished to have a fun-filled summer vacation in Ontario. Make-A-Wish® BC & Yukon granted her wish with help from Make-A-Wish® Toronto & Central Ontario. Sharon's wish was more than just a vacation. It was her chance to make up for lost time and enjoy carefree moments with her family beyond hospital walls.

This September, we encourage parents and medical professionals to refer a child fighting cancer to Make-A-Wish® for a transformational wish experience.

We'd like to extend our sincerest thank you to our incredible partner, Govan Brown, for supporting Make-A-Wish Toronto & Central Ontario and Junior Achievement Central Ontario through the Cureapalooza Vol II charity concert. Both charities received a $15,000 donation raised through ticket and VIP package sales.

Special thanks to Sam Roberts Band, Dwayne Gretzky and Side Hustle for putting on an incredible show to help grant wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Encourage Students To Give
Back This School Year

This September, help inspire students to support worthy causes in their communities.

Kids For Wish Kids
® in support of Make-A-Wish puts young people in charge of their community service goals. The in-school program empowers students to take the lead by providing them with the opportunity to brainstorm fundraising ideas and develop plans of action.
Children learn valuable skills like money management, entrepreneurship, and the value of volunteerism. From pizza parties to talent shows, bake sales and more, participants are encouraged to get creative and come up with unique ways to raise funds and help grant wishes for kids with critical illnesses.
