Kate's Wish Boosts Her Confidence

At age two, Kate was diagnosed with a gastrointestinal disorder that causes ongoing pain and disruption in her day-to-day activities. Kate remains hopeful about her future and is looking forward to starting high school soon. Her wish was inspired by this momentous occasion.

She could think of no better place to find the perfect graduation dress than the famous West Edmonton Mall. She wished to go there to find a dress that would make her feel confident and ready to celebrate a wonderful milestone.

“It was an amazing experience just to be able to get away and share this with Kate,” says Karen, Kate’s mom. "It was just what she needed to have that confidence for her graduation.”

More than 1,600 riders participated in the 48-HOUR RIDE in 2018, raising over 2 million dollars for Make-A-Wish®. The event is reaching new heights this year, with over 350 teams participating. Rain or shine, teams of 6 riders will take turns cycling day and night. It's a challenge, but also an incredible festival where team spirit reigns and the excitement is palpable.
