From cradle to grave: the impacts of lignite on Europe’s citizens and environment - the case of Poland and Germany

Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg MEP, Reinhard Bütikofer MEP, and WWF European Policy Office invite you to a debate on the impacts of lignite development on Europe’s citizens and its environment.
 
During this debate, representatives of local communities from Poland and Germany will present their position on lignite, and relate their struggles with investors and authorities over plans for lignite development.

The speakers will highlight concerns over the impacts of the lignite sector on the local environment, society and the climate. 
They will present their demands towards national, regional and EU decision-makers regarding lignite development and EU policies.
