Justice Through Solidarity:
Rallying against Police Brutality
Last month, our country witnessed the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile at the hands of police through social media and mass media outlets.
On July 12th, the MinKwon Center released a statement joined by other Korean American organizations in support of #BlackLivesMatter and condemning the police violence done onto African Americans within the United States. And on July 18th, immigration advocates and supporters of the BLM movement held a rally in Foley Square to highlight the intersection of immigrant rights, civil rights and the racial discrimination in law enforcement, and to issue a call for civic participation in the upcoming elections.
