|X-ES 3U cPCI SBC Achieves VMware Ready™ Status and JITC Certification
The XPedite7332 3U cPCI Single Board Computer (SBC) is VMware Ready™ Certified and on the VMWare Hardware Compatibility List (HCL), and it is now on the Unified Capabilities (UC) Approved Product List (APL) by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) as a Local Session Controller (LSC) for operation on the U.S. Department of Defense communications networks. The XPedite7332, running VMware vSphere Hypervisor virtualization software and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Version 8.6, enables rugged, embedded communications platforms for network-centric military applications.
The XPedite7332 works in conjunction with the 3U cPCI Cisco 5940 Embedded Services Router (ESR) to provide mobile, ad hoc networking services for public safety, transportation, energy, and military applications. With support for DLEP, the latest Radio Aware Routing (RAR) protocol, the 5940 ESR connects to IP-enabled radios to form mobile ad hoc networks. A large number of military IT professionals are already trained on Cisco Integrated Services Routers (ISRs) and enterprise-class equipment, allowing the military to easily expand services and applications to the warfighters at the edge of the network utilizing Cisco 5940 ESRs and X-ES SBCs.
|Rugged Embedded Routers Running Cisco® IOS
The versatile, Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP)-optimized, rugged, embedded, 4-port routers from X-ES incorporate Cisco IOS IP Routing Software (Cisco IOS Release 15.2GC) with Cisco Mobile Ready Net capabilities to provide highly secure data, voice, and video communications to stationary and mobile network nodes across both wired and wireless links. The X-ES routers provide mobile, ad hoc networking for military and emergency response and extend the Cisco enterprise infrastructure beyond the reach of traditional fixed-network infrastructure for oil and gas, mining, smart grid, transportation, and public safety applications.
The XPedite5205 Embedded Services Router (ESR) is a PMC module that can be easily integrated into existing VME, cPCI, or VPX based systems.
At less than 72 cubic inches and 3.5 pounds, SFFR is the smallest available rugged, packaged router hosting Cisco IOS. The four Ethernet ports of the integrated XPedite5205 are available via commercial RJ-45, industrial IP66/67, or military D38999 connectors.
