Race Swag
Race packets will contain your event t-shirt, race bib #, timing chip, Paul Mitchell samples, XTERRA temporary tattoo, and any other sponsor goodies we could find.

Buffs - They got held up in shipping and probably won't be here until Monday. We'll get them out in the mail next week.

Shirts - We ordered 320 shirts and have 340 people registered. If you don't get a shirt on race day, worry not. We'll take care of you.

Post Race Food - We have Waffle N Joe (waffles and coffee) food truck coming out to sell refreshments. We've added a $2 food/drink voucher to your race packet that you can use at the food truck. We'll also have classic bananas, watermelon, potato chips, pretzels, fruit chews, water, Gatorade, water, and soda at the finish line.

We have a BYOB permit for the event so feel free to come tailgate by the finish line pavilion. We actually hope you bring your whole football tailgate set up and party with us at the finish line!

Safety pins and garden twisty ties for your shoe timing chip will be on a table next to the check-in/registration table.

Race times and pictures will be posted to our Facebook Page and Website ASAP after the race.

Visual Directions
Google Maps Directions
In Cecil County, exit 100 off Interstate 95 North toward Rising Sun on Route 272 North. Take a right on Rt. 273 and follow to the intersection of Rt. 273 and 213, proceed through the traffic light - Fair Hill entrance to fairgrounds, race barns, Walls Hall and riding stables is 300 yards on the right.
Water stations are every 2 - 2.5 miles.
Every station will have water and Gatorade. Stations 2, 4, and 6 will have fruit chews and pretzels, too.
There is a porta-potty at water station 4.
We are offering free tracking and cheer sending in the RaceJoy mobile App. If you carry your phone during the race, you can receive audio Progress Alerts as you complete the course. These are typically sent out at every mile. Also, people can track your blue dot move on a map and send you fun cheers! Download RaceJoy now to get set up! (Link to App Download)
The Half and Full Marathon Route

The course will be marked with PINK and/or RED survey flags and Race Course signs with arrows. Follow the arrows and follow survey flags through turns and/or straight past intersections. Act like the flags have a gravitational pull on your body.

Each mile will be marked (close enough) with a number on a Race Course sign.

Marathoners run the same direction after finishing the first 13.1-mile loop.

Marathon runners need to run through the finish arch/chute across the timing mat so we can get your split time and so you can get some refreshments.

There are 50+ miles of trails throughout Fair Hill so.....

Follow our signs & flags, follow our signs & flags, follow our signs & flags.

Pro tip: The moment you just start following the person in front of you and stop paying attention to the trail is the moment you and that whole group realize you're way off course. All trail intersections are marked so if you come to an unmarked turn, check to see where you are.

This course is crazy awesome and super diverse so it is imperative that you pay attention to your footing, direction, and the trail at all times. Again, the moment you zone-out will not only be the moment you get off course but you'll also be missing out on the rush, sights, sounds, and feeling you can only get from trail running.

These courses are not closed to vehicle traffic at the road crossings. Our crossing guards will be there to keep an eye on the roads and to give you a heads up. The road sections of the course are very short so to keep things simple, please stay to the right side of the road until you reach the next section of trails.

Full marathon participants must complete their first 13.1 by 11am (4 hours) to allow our sweep team to start cleaning up. Those unable to complete their first loop by then will be stopped and scored as a half marathon participant.

Top Three Male and Female overall.

The top 3 age group for male and female will also receive prizes. (5 year age groups.) 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24 etc.

Finishers medals for all.

If you absolutely can not stick around for the awards presentation please check with the timing crew to see if you won any awards so you can pick them up before you leave. It is too expensive to mail pint glasses and other goodies after the event is over.
Race Timing

Marathon & Half Marathon - Your timing chips are glued to the back of your race bib. Please wear your bib visibly on the front of your body. Do not cut up the bib and chip.

5k and 10k athletes - We're using shoe tags to time you all.
Please attached the chip to your shoe either by tying it on with your shoelaces or with the twisty ties we'll have at the check-in table. Failure to attach your chip to your shoe may result in not receiving an official race time. NO CHIP, NO TIME.

Help out our backup timers by placing your race bib visible on the front of your body.

After you've completed your race, please allow some of the finish line volunteers to assist you in removing and collecting the shoe tag timing chips. Any chips not returned after the race will make us very sad...and broke.
Volunteers/Staff Are Always Needed!

As the saying goes, many hands make light work. With a fun gig like this, it's harder to call it work than the work itself. We're always in need of extra hands, cheerleaders, and hype-stars at water stops, course marshal spots, and at the finish line. Helpers get paid to work in some form or another.
Sign up to help out!
Let us know if you have any questions about the race, the series, or about any of our race management/timing services!
