Dear CSA Members,
I hope everyone has had a fun and safe summer!
As promised, we are holding a 2022 WVHIMA Virtual Annual Convention. Details of this educational and networking event are located under the Annual Convention Chair Update within this full CSA update.
Additionally, we are planning to hold the 2023 WVHIMA Annual Convention in the Spring. It will be an in-person meeting, and the tentative location is set for The Greenbrier “America’s Resort” located in White Sulphur Springs, WV. Additional details regarding convention dates, special room rates and travel recommendations will be communicated as soon as possible. The 2023 WVHIMA Annual Convention’s theme will be “HIM Reunion” to celebrate our colleagues and friends being together in-person under one roof.
I also want to share an educational opportunity I participated in this year. I attended the 72nd NCHIMA Annual Convention in Concord, NC in June 2022. It was a very informational and well-coordinated in-person meeting. I took lots of notes and I gathered many great ideas for our in-person meeting next year. Below were a few of their educational offerings.

Mark your calendars! The long awaited WVHIMA 2022 Annual Convention will be a virtual event this year. We are so excited to get our convention underway and provide you with educational content just in time for the Fall season. The theme for the 2022 WVHIMA Virtual Annual Convention is “Harvesting Knowledge”.
WVHIMA Virtual Convention will open for access on October 1, at which time you will have access to on-demand presentations. This virtual convention will not require you to log in to view live sessions, making this convention easily accessible to you at any time.
The full agenda is still under construction, but presentation topics include: WVHIMA and AHIMA Updates. Revenue Cycle Management, CDI, Coding, and more. In addition to the on- demand presentations, there will be networking opportunities, a virtual exhibit hall, and more!
Early registration will be open: August 27- September 16.
Regular registration: September 17-December 2.
