WHIMA Virtual Annual Conference – Registration Now Open!

Since many of our members were unable to attend the in-person WHIMA Annual Conference in Pewaukee on May12-14, we wanted to create a conference just for you! The Annual Conference Team has developed a virtual conference.     

The WHIMA Virtual Conference includes hot topics from the challenges of the new 2021 E/M guidelines, CDI, cancer registry, auditing, information security, ICD 10 PCS to stress. time and procrastination management.  

The Annual Conference Team wants to provide health information professionals with CEU’s that will be beneficial to your career. 

The WHIMA Virtual Annual Conference can be purchased as a package price or individual sessions.

Tips for Coding Mental, Behavioral Health Services

Everything relevant to the patient's condition must be captured when coding behavioral and mental health services, writes coding auditor and consultant Erin Head. Coding and billing teams should be familiar with the Inpatient Psychiatric Facility Prospective Payment System and the CMS list of adjustment comorbidities, and they should work closely with physicians to ensure diagnoses are specific.

Clarks says, "People say, about getting tattoos, that you get one and you want more. I feel the same way about interacting with my legislators."

Did you know that voting in AHIMA’s annual leadership election is a member benefit given to all members with the exception of those who are still students?
 
Here is how it works: 
 
This year's election will run July 12–26, 2021. Be on the lookout for an email from AHIMA when voting opens. Information on each of the candidates will be on ahima.org soon. The 2021 ballot candidates were chosen by the AHIMA Nominating Committee based on their qualifications, attributes, and skill sets, with consideration given to all types of diversity.
