This is such a great opportunity to grow professionally, support your organization, and network with your peers so please nominate yourself or one of your qualified colleagues as we continue to build the future of SCHIMA.
We will close nominations on March 15, 2021.

Take the Next Step in Leadership - Apply for an Elected Volunteer Position with AHIMA

AHIMA is looking for strategic, innovative, dedicated members to be considered for one of our five elected roles in 2022. View the opportunities for the AHIMA President/Chair-elect, Board of Directors, CEE member, CCHIIM Commissioners, and Speaker-elect of the House of Delegates on the AHIMA website. The online application will be available in mid-January. Please contact with any questions and to indicate your interest in applying. The application link will be sent to you once it is available.

We are excited to introduce you to AHIMA Access in just a few weeks! What’s Access? Access is a modern, robust digital community platform where members can engage with AHIMA, fellow HI professionals, and other content. You can join communities based on your type of work, professional interests, and much more.

We are looking forward to sharing more about Access in E-Alert and social media in the coming weeks. For now, here are five key things to know:
  1. Access is designed to feel like the social media platforms you are accustomed to. Get excited to see curated health information content in your newsfeed!
  2. Access communities will have folders where you can easily share resources and documents. Please note that AHIMA is moving away from Engage at the end of January, so consider downloading any documents you will want to keep. There will be a one-week period after Engage is turned off before members are able to use Access.
  3. If you want to save discussion threads that happened in Engage, we recommend copying and pasting them in a Word document to be saved in your files.
  4. You don’t have to be on your computer to take advantage of Access – its mobile-friendly interface looks great on phones and tablets.
  5. On Access, you can follow topics that interest you using your favorite #hashtags. For example, following #PatientID will allow you to see posts with that hashtag.
Again, look for more information about Access in the coming weeks! If you have questions, explore these FAQs. If you have questions about Engage shutting down, please email
