Calling all nominees! WVHIMA is seeking nominations for elected officers for the 2023-2024 Board of Directors!

WVHIMA Board Nominations:
The WVHIMA Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for fellow members and/or yourself as possible candidates for the WVHIMA Board positions for the next fiscal year July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024.
All nominees must be active WVHIMA members in good standing.
Nominations are open for the following positions.
President-Elect - Serves a term of one year prior to becoming President, then continues to serve on the WVHIMA Board of Directors as President, and then Past-President for two years. A total commitment of four years. 1 member will be elected as President-Elect, and the second place vote from the President-Elect ballots will become the Vice President for a 1-year tenure.
Director - Serves a term of three years, and is responsible to observing and learning the operations of WVHIMA through updating the bylaws, policies and procedures, and familiarizing themselves with the committee and reporting structure of WVHIMA in preparation to be a candidate for President-Elect upon completion of term, if desired. 1 member will be elected as Director.
Secretary - Serves a term of one year, and assists the President in scheduling board meetings, conference calls, and taking the business minutes at all executive and board meetings for that term. 1 member will be elected as secretary.
Treasurer - Serves a term of 2 years and is responsible for maintaining the financial accounts for WVHIMA. 1 member will be elected.
Nominating Committee - Serve as a committee member to seek and solicit candidates for upcoming nomination and ballots. The term is one year. 2 members will be elected for the nominating committee.

Nominations will be accepted now through February 1.
Elected individuals will be recognized during the 2023 WVHIMA Convention.

Seeking Nominations for the 2023 WVHIMA Distinguished Member Award
|
|
Each year, WVHIMA likes to recognize one member for outstanding service within the organization. This award is known as the WVHIMA Distinguished Member award. This person will have made an exceptional impact through volunteerism to WVHIMA, AHIMA, and other health information management organizations. They will have made an outstanding achievement in professional practice, through leadership in education, and also made contributions in research or published materials.
This prestigious award can be presented only once in a member’s lifetime.
Nominations will be accepted through February 10, 2023.
The nominations are tallied by a points system and the person nominated that receives the most points becomes the WVHIMA Distinguished Member for the year. View our list of distinguished members.
To be eligible for nomination the candidates must have made an outstanding contribution to the WVHIMA profession in more than one of the following areas.
- Service to WVHIMA Members,
- Outstanding achievement in professional practice,
- Contributions in research or published materials, and
- Leadership in education
Candidates for WVHIMA distinguished member must have been an active member of WVHIMA for eight years or longer.
Only one nomination per member per year is accepted.
