Recycling and Valentine's Day

CVWMA suggests that you can recycle all the time; even on Valentine's Day. Check out this website with LOTS of craft ideas made from recyclables.
In addition, Keep Henrico Beautiful (KHB) will be one of the featured segments on Virginia This Morning, Feb. 10 to share some of KHB's Valentine craft favorites

CVWMA Curbside Recycling Program Updates

  • Elected leaders in the City of Hopewell voted to provide curbside recycling to eligible city residents beginning July 1. Exciting changes are coming to the City of Hopewell.
  • The City of Petersburg started curbside recycling service to residents in March 2013. As of December 2013, city curbside recyclers have recycled 730.3 tons.
  • Thanks to all of you who recycle at the curb through CVWMA programs. Because  of your efforts over 17,000 tons of recyclables have been diverted from local landfills from July through December 2013. Keep recycling! You make a difference!

Plastic Bag Recycling

Friendly Reminder: CVWMA does not accept plastic bags in its curbside and drop-off recycling programs; only paper bags because plastic bags interfere with the machinery at the MRF (sorting facility).
We recommend that you check with your local retailers or visit for exact locations of plastic bag recycling containers.

Check out our Journey Through the MRF video on YouTube for a virtual field trip.
